New Addiction: Scrappy Critters

I usually spend my winter evenings making upcycled hand, leg and neck warmers, but it requires me to sit at my sewing table. Winter storms with shifting barometric pressure causes my fibromyalgia to flare up, so I spend a lot of down-time in my comfy chair with a heating pad.

So…. I started hand sewing cat toys out of leftover wool, alpaca and cashmere scraps, while sipping adult beverages, taking care of my aches and binging sci-fi shows. The addiction began immediately, taking advantage of my insomnia.

Of course my cats had no interest in playing with my critters, so I started making kitties. A few of these are on my Etsy Shop, but most are not because I prefer to vend in person. However, if there is a critter you can’t stand to be without, contact me. Prices range from $25 to $48 and I can ship anywhere in the U.S. for $4.00.

The whole collection will be available at:
Truckee Maker Show: June 9th
Obtainium Cup, Vallejo: July 31
Maker Faire, Mare Island: October 18-20

Then came foxes, frogs, mice, rats and possoms.

And them the monsters began arriving…

Bears, chickens, mushrooms and tardigrades!

Steampunk hats and goggles for critters, each with a magnet sewn inside.

My critters are 100% Upcycled. I use small sweater and fabric scraps, vintage buttons, wool, alpaca, cotton and blended yarn, embroidery floss and thread, and make my own stuffing by cutting up the tiny unusable fabric scraps and yarns. And yes, I accept donations of old knit garments, fabrics and socks.
