We are members, volunteers and instructors at the Truckee Roundhouse Community Makerspace, a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer-operated workspace, with shops for Metal, Wood, Technology, Ceramics and Textiles.

Located at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport, Truckee Roundhouse is open to the public, supporting the teaching, learning and practicing of craft skills, technologies and the arts in the North Tahoe community. Workshops and classes are offered in each shop. Membership gives members access to the space 6-days a week for 8-hours per day.
Before Truckee Roundhouse opened in 2016, Judi was recruited to be Textile Shop Lead Volunteer, responsible for designing the Textile shop and procuring tools, equipment and basic sewing supplies. As an upcycler, Judi established an organized free resource of fabrics and notions for students and members, from curated materials donated by the community.

Judi still volunteers as the Textile Shop Lead where she hosts free weekly Textile Open Studio mentorship hours for members. From January to June each year, Judi volunteers as the Maker Show Booth & Map Coordinator, curating and recruiting community members to participate. Additionally, she coordinates booths for the Holiday Block Party hosted every December.
Judi has created programs like Sewing Summer Camp for kids and original sewing curriculum from Make a Tote Bag to Make Custom Overalls. She teaches adults sewing and Encaustic painting (hot beeswax medium). Youth programs include special programs with Sierra High and Truckee River School, plus monthly kids workshops and summer camps. Judi also teaches free monthly Clothing Mending and Repair workshops sponsored by Keep Truckee Green.

Eli volunteers at the Annual Maker Show every June, Fixit Clinics sponsored by Keep Truckee Green where he specializes in electronic repairs. In partnership with Obtainium Works, Eli developed Robot Rumble, a special workshop where students built remote-controlled battle robots out of obtainium*, then battled them in the arena at the Maker Show.
