simple sustainable living

We’re frugal tree-hugging DIY makers. Our story began when we met as volunteers at Earth Guardians, the Leave No Trace department at Burning Man. We alone can’t save the Earth, however, we can control our lifestyle and impact on our environment. With the combination of our unique skills, we’ve found a way to live simple, healthy, and sustainable life, everyday while living within our means.

We seek sustainable alternatives in everything we do, such as: home energy conservation, upcycling, reusing and repairing. We live simply, make do with what we have and seek alternatives to purchasing new goods, buying eco-conscience goods when necessary. We drive 20+ year old vehicles are are happy to support our mechanic through maintenance and repairs. We upcycle because used objects have a history, their own character and value… so we believe they should be reused instead of taken to the landfill. We challenge ourselves to use obtainium* in imaginative and unconventional ways. We’re inspired by new technologies, alternetative energies and clean living lifestyle changes.

We love living in Kings Beach, a little California mountain town on the north end of Lake Tahoe, in a community of makers, artists, musicians, hippies, burners and underserved working families, half of which are part of the immigrant workforce.

We’re happy to share our skills and lessons with others through education, consultation and collaboration.
