April 10, 2025 Moonshine Ink High Time for the High Street House
Most Truckee locals are familiar with the old house on the corner of High and Spring streets overlooking historic downtown Truckee. With its tarped windows, weathered surfaces, and piles of materials, it’s easy to assume that the house on High Street is abandoned, but it’s not.
The homeowner, Ross Nagle, 80, is a Navy veteran who bought the house 50 years ago. A carpenter by trade, he’s been working on the decades-long restoration project and lives in the 126-year-old house, despite its condition of disrepair. Read whole story here.
11/3/25 Update:
Jesse Hidalgo, owner of Nobility Works Construction has made progress on the house the past few months, donating all the labor of himself and his crew, as well as paying for supplies as needed. So far, new window have been installed, a new front porch, interior walls, flooring and roof patching. CATT CP, Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe Community Projects who has donated funds, and Simpson Strong-Tie has donated all the connectors, anchors, fastening systems and nails for the project.
