BEBOT: Lake Tahoe’s Beach-Cleaning Robots In their fourth season, the BEBOTs continued to uncover hidden litter beneath the sand, protecting Lake Tahoe and its shoreline.
Clean Up The Lake: Tahoe local Colin West, started a 72-mile scuba clean-up project called CleanUpTheLake.org. In 2022, Volunteer divers removed 25,281 pounds of trash from Lake Tahoe, including PET plastic.
Shane McConkey Eco Challenge: The Shane McConkey EcoChallenge empowers students around the world to identify environmental challenges in their communities and create innovative, action-oriented solutions.
Don’t Drop the Top: Save your plastic bottles caps! Last year, volunteers collected and sorted a record-setting 2,700 pounds of plastic caps and lids saved from the landfill and now they will be sent to make benches and garden boxes. Plastic Cap Drop-off locations are listed below.
