Reduce & Rethink


All these efforts to manage waste means nothing if we don’t REduce our trash production. Overall, we need to REthink what we consume, REthink how we dispose of things and REthink our daily habits.

* Grocery Bags: Avoid one-time-use plastic grocery bags by keeping reusable shopping bags in each vehicle.
* Shop smart: As consumers, make educated choices about product and packaging.
* Swap products in plastic bottles for shampoo and conditioner bars, refillable concentrated cleaning products and laundry sheets.
* Plastic Forks: Avoid disposable plastic flatware by carrying a set of reusable silverwear set in your vehicle or bag.
* Compost: Keep stinky trash out of the your trash can by learning to compost kitchen scraps and paper goods like tissues and cardboard. Some communities offer Compost drop-off sites, just read the rules carefully.
