As a crew member of Obtainium Works, a Steampunk Art Studio in Vallejo, Ca., Eli co-founded Robot Rumble, an interactive community-outreach project where spectators can battle remote-controlled robots, made purely of Obtainium.
Built on a mobility scooter base, each robot is made from trash cans, old equipment and random metal parts, attached in a variety of ways. The program teaches and inspires others to turn trash into art, while learning fabrication and tech skills. Eli’s experience in aeronautical engineering, fabrication, drafting, architecture and electronics technology has been valuable to the program.
Robot Rumble has been hosted at the Truckee Maker Show, Bay Area Maker Faire on Mare Island.
