Greetings from Obtainium High Camp! 

We are pleased to announce the extraordinary success of the third annual Robot Rumble at the Truckee Roundhouse 2024 Maker Show. With each year we delivered huge improvements, growing the Robot Rumble from a sketchy sideshow activity to a headlining attraction. We’ve doubled the size of our robot fleet, while improving the reliability of systems, and developed a program that enables a smaller crew to deliver a higher level of service to a broader audience.  

This program would not be possible without the contributions and ongoing support from our crew.  Virtually everyone at Obtainium Works has had some involvement with our robots whether helping with logistics or helping kids operate bots. We’ve developed and torture tested a modular, low cost, reliable system to conscript discarded mobility scooters to serve in our insidious robot army. 

Thank you to everyone who’s helped get Robot Rumble this far. This year, we upped our game by adding a Truckee workshop and lots of extra planning, and it paid off. 

Thank you to our Vallejo Obtainium Works crew; 
Shannon “Major Catastrophe” and Samuel “Spaceman Sam” for hauling up all the goods and directing operations, and to Kathy and Katherine for support on the back end. Thank you Jaime for giving Recycletron your muy-guapo flair, and Sparky for the controllers you built. They worked impeccably, helping make our robots some of the most reliable contraptions in the Obtainium fleet.

Thank you to our Truckee Roundhouse crew;
Karyn and Alissa… for believing in the program and being flexible as plans changed, to Terrence and Mike for assisting with the workshop, and Ali and Spencer for setup, operations and teardown. You are all officially members of Obtainium High Camp. With this fresh momentum, we hope to expand the Robot Rumble program at Truckee Roundhouse.
