You may have heard of, or even seen the feature documentary, Vintage Tomorrows. The film seeks to define Steampunk and find it’s roots. Multiple Steampunks are interviewed and featured in the film, including some of our own crew members of Obtainium Works. In fact, the film wraps up at the Obtainium Works art space in Vallejo.
The Vallejo debut of the film is set for Friday, April 14th at the Empress Theatre. While the film is the main event, this is the 5th Anniversary of Obtainium Works in Vallejo. The event will include live music and a Steampunk Street Market outside of the theatre, a cocktail hour and dinner before the film. After the film, there is more live music inside the theatre.

Obtainium Works has done so much for the Vallejo Art Community. I grew up in Vallejo and have seen it’s decline… until Obtainium Works moved in and inspired more artists to set up shop here.
Keep in mind; this is a fundraiser for Obtainium Works, who host other great events like the Obtainium Cup Contraptor’s Rally & Art Car Fest, and the YUGE Mad Hatter Parade.
The tragedy at the Ghostship Art Space in Oakland has changed the way we are able to host events, which were hosted at the Obtainium Works Art Space. We are thrilled to be hosting this at the Empress Theatre, but of course our expenses are higher so there is more risk.
What can you do? Support this amazing organization and the local art community by attending this event and bringing friends! We promise, you’ll enjoy it! I hope to see you all there.
