It’s getting cold outside, so I’ve scheduled some workshops to help us all warm up.
Friday October 22: Upcycled Bernie Mittens
5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Make your very own upcycled Bernie Mittens! Learn the basics of upcycling materials with our Textiles Lead Volunteer Judi Morales.In this class, students will learn how to use a pattern and basic construction techniques, while making a pair of original Bernie mittens out of upcycled sweaters.
Skill Level: Should have basic sewing skills.
Age Level: Adults and kids 12+
Monday October 25: Encuastic Hot Wax Painting
5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Learn the basics of painting with this hot beeswax medium. Hot molten pigmented wax is applied to wood substrates then fused with a torch. Colors can be layered, segmented, embedded with objects and scraped to create abstract paintings. All materials are included. Skill level: No painting experience is needed.
Ages: 14 to adult.
Friday October 29: Costume Open Studio
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Come work on your Halloween costume at Open Studio. I’ll be on hand to help you complete your project.
Skill Level: Beginner/intermediate
