If you dislike stinky non-biodegradable sponges, here an easy way to upcycle old terrycloth towels into reusable sponges. These are great for wiping counters, light cleaning and messy spills. Just toss them in the washing machine with your kitchen towels, and reuse again and again.
I like a two layer sponge, but you can do a triple or quadruple layer sponge for a thicker sponge.
Step 1: Cut the towels into rectangles so you can fold them in half to make a square.



Step 2: Simply serge or zigzag the edges together, all the way around.
